Y4

Hello Year Four!

Thank you for a lovely settled start. We've had lots of fun so far and we're really enjoying learning about the Romans.

New Homework

This year, there will be some changes to the spelling homework that is set. Instead of a spellings list to learn for a test, we will now be setting words for the children to embed. The children are being asked to put their weekly word list into a sentence to ensure they know the meaning, as well as the correct spelling.

A homework exercise book has been provided. These books should be brought into school with the completed homework so I can see your progress.

This week, we have been learning the spelling rule IES when words end in a consonant followed by a Y. Have a go at putting these words into a sentence, remembering capital letters, full stops and excellent handwriting:

ladies

babies

fairies

centuries

discoveries

berries

cities

families

parties

activities

I'm excited to see what you come up with. Enjoy!
