Good morning Year 1.
I hope you have had a wonderful weekend.
This week in maths we are going to learn how to recognise, compare and add money.
In English we are going to carry on learning about fairy tales. This week we are reading Little Red Riding Hood.
Please have a go at doing the 5 basic skills tasks throughout the week.
If you are in need of some reading material, please visit this Oxford Owl website where you can download free e-books. Free eBook library – practise reading with phonics eBooks | Oxford Owl
Don't forget that children will benefit from reading any suitable reading material, such as comics, magazines, newspapers, non-fiction, picture books, recipes etc.
We are focusing on learning the Year 1 common exception words. Try to learn how to spell these words. Can you thing of a fun way to practice them (write with colouring pencils or draw a picture)
There will be the usual phonics, English and maths live lessons this week. There will also be some extra invites this week to join a virtual PE (Monday pm) and a Golden Celebration (Friday pm) so look out for them.
I hope you enjoy the activities this week and I look forward to seeing you all on the TEAMS sessions.
Don't forget to email me any work you would like to show me -- firstname.lastname@example.org
Miss Taylor :)
